Try comparing this skill to any other.
It removes 2 conditions from yourself.
Energy cost doesn't really matter. It does not hurt you even if you cast on recharge.
Its easily maintainable, and you can cover it after a second to avoid strips.
Then we come to crippling any moving target in your spear/bow/whatever range.
Cripshot does the same but its an elite with a fair recharge time.
Even if the cripple is drawn, another is applied as soon as you land an attack.
You say that maintainable cripplebot with a condition removal doesn't need a nerf?

Indeed.
Sure wish I could remove blind/cripple/hex at will without the use of an alternate profession. Sure wish I could Heal myself without taking double damage or disabling my res signet and not have to use an alternate profession... sure wish i could reliably snare an adjacent group of foes with a low energy skill in pve... nope can't do that anymore either... DOH!
Don't mind me... I'm just a tin can pushing up daisy's and thinking about the good ole days...
(begins singing "memories... of the times we left behind... scattered pic.... tures..." "mamma? its getting dark... i... I'm afraid of the dark bad people want to ignore me and then hurt me momma!" Its okay honey... it'll all be over soon, just use that trick Brother Mhenlo taught you to chase away the darkness..." "I Can SEE momma! oh... wait, never mind" "careful hon, if you keep touching yourself you won't have the energy to go on and you'll just be blind forever". "Momma, Brother Mhenlo's an idiot isn't he?" "Yes son, he really is; without a doubt, he certainly is.")

going to post my reply here as well:
Weak update-
Aura of thorns: energy cost won't affect this skill what so ever, recharge or duration should have been increased/decreased, instead of energy, 5 energy is nothing to a dervish, pointless change
Avatar of Balthazar: Fair enough, spammability of flash enchantments hardly scratches it.
Dust cloak: Good change, too spammable at 6.
Harrier's grasp: Good change, needs higher recharge imo, pretty much a conjure cripple, needs to be able to be stripped so it has a downtime.
Lyssa's haste: Fair change, but i think the initial interrupt needs to be removed, it the reason why its overpowered, no cast time.
Blinding Flash: Quite a bad update, it was balanced at 15e, it was already annoying having an ele sit on you all game till they ran out of energy stripped, this just means 50% more blinds when there stripped, make matches much longer.
Grasping earth: 1 word: Finally.
Fragility: 8 seconds is not good enough, we have 40/40s for a reason, should be 12 recharge or at least 10 seconds.
Divine healing & heaven delight: good update, makes more options for third back line character, still pretty weak though compared to healing burst by itself as a team heal.
overall pretty weak update, would have liked to see the more spammable derv enchants nerfed.

In case you missed it, this was the original quote.
I'm not against a nerf to Harrier's Grasp. But I'm against a nerf to Harrier's Grasp solely because it "punish[es] people for kiting".

It's only f00king over the few brave souls that still run balanced in HA, don't forget grasping is used on a RANGER lol. you tell me where else in that build to slot it and you'll get a cookie. They should have kept the energy cost unchanged and made it so that you would actually have to invest in earth magic in order to make it work.

I don't care if Dervishes are OP because they're my favorite profession. PvP is a never ending cycle of OP and underused skills and professions in this game. Dual warriors in gvg spent such a long time in every team build because nothing else was worth it.
I've given up with the whole "omg this is so OP" business, the goal is to have fun.

I don't get the random blinding flash buff... it is quite unnecesary imo. Why change a skill that is actually well balanced??
Grasping Earth has had far too much duration at low spec since forever. This was really the problem with it... not the cost imo.
Dartboard dervish nerfs are extremely disappointing. Nowhere near enough nerfs and only some of the correct skills.

Signed!
I really laughed.
I feel like constant buffs to blind ele's are made because dev's like playing them.
Cant see any other reason.
Anet wants to introduce more ele's in play? Tone down pressure from current builds so teams with the ele's wont wipe in an instant, instead of pointless buffing anti-melee skills making warriors even more useless.
Like everyone said about grasping, duration should have been nerfed not the cost.
What do you think about new party heals?
Might be a nice replacement for Sig Rejuve to push party heals further, yet I'm not sure if its worth it.

I'd prefer a LOT a massive rework for make them useful in pve, istead of buff without any clear reason in pvp, where they're fine atm.
Buffed DH+HD is always a clean 100-150+(depending from DF rank) is using both, every 12 secs(may be less with set bonus). Dunno how much will things change about this tbh.
Anyway i feel like the derv skill nerfs isn't over yet....
(hopefully)

The Blinding Flash buff only puts warriors further behind dervishes. Comparing the two, dervishes have many easy options to remove/transfer conditions, and even if they didn't they still do damage/spread condi's with their flash enchants. Blind warriors are still completely useless.
